What does the Hall of Fame trainer say?

“We bought King de Lago as a yearling at the Magic Millions and we considered him to be the best yearling at the sale. His paddock injury was a huge disappointment to us as we had great plans for him. Perhaps his potential will now be reached in the breeding barn and I would have no hesitation in supporting him.”

Is breeding history about to repeat itself?

According to those who should know, the talk is that King de Lago has every chance to follow in the footsteps of his Champion sire ENCOSTA DE LAGO. His oldest progeny are now rising 2 year olds and the reports on his first and second crop progeny have been sensational. The former Freedman owned son of Encosta de Lago has passed every step in his stud career and is ready to prove the Hall of Fame trainer accurate in his judgement of him as a yearling and stud prospect. Further testimony continues to come in from mare owners and supported by industry experts.

“I’ve inspected a number of yearlings by King de Lago and found them to be well grown, balanced and athletic individuals. We all know how important good conformation is, and on what I’ve seen he’s a definite chance”. reports respected bloodstock auctioneer Simon Vivian.

Group One winning trainer John McArdle was Freedman’s foreman when King de Lago arrived from the yearling sales and always liked him on type. John has reported positively on the breaking of his first son of King de Lago. “He’s a big strong colt and handled his breaking superbly. He’s done everything right but I would not expect anything less from a son of King de Lago. He’s an easy horse to train and is already showing the benefit of his fathers type.” said McArdle.
